I’m April Holmes, an archaeologist and GIS specialist with over 20 years of experience in cultural resource management, historical archaeology, and geospatial research. As a Senior Research Associate at the UWF Archaeology Institute, I create archaeological site maps, manage GIS data, and support fieldwork and research. Through the Graduate GIS Certificate program, I have expanded my skills in spatial analysis, geoprocessing, and ModelBuilder automation. I enjoy using GIS to uncover patterns in cultural materials, create predictive models, and develop maps and visualizations that make spatial data accessible and meaningful. I live in Pensacola, Florida with my two rescue dogs, Freya and Ulli.
